How’s this for a little “CSR” action–Northwestern Corporation just settled a tax dispute with Montana’s Department of revenue, and now they’re sharing the tax refund with their customers!
Well, not all of it. Shareholders need their cut too. Northwestern got $4.7 million back from previously paid taxes, and $2.8 million was given back to customers of the utility.
Another bonus to Montanans–the other taxes were tied up in the dispute, and can now be spent on schools and other state expenses.
